The Lancashire Sunday Football League club officials unanimously decided, at their October League Meeting, to donate £250.00 to Heartbeat in memory of Jim Bryson who died on 31 August.
Jim, who had served on the management committee of the league for 43 years, was a keen supporter of the Heartbeat (the League’s adopted charity) and he was instrumental in raising a substantial amount for them in recent years.

Val says “Cycled 1050 miles in total because we took the quiet roads, not the direct route. Most of the trip was completed in stages in November. We raised £800 pounds sponsorship from friends and supporters.
Thanks for all the support received.
£410 was raised by the ladies of Rossendale Golf Club in various events through the year. Total amount so far about £1200. This includes £160 on the just giving page.
An absolutely fantastic achievement! Well done Val and Keith, and thank you both so much for your amazing support! We cannot thank you enough!!
Val has been Lady Captain at Rossendale Golf Club and has supported Heartbeat during the year in memory of Peter Ashcroft.
The golf season finished at the end of October 2017, immediately after closing day, Val and Keith travelled up to John o Groats to get on their bikes and cycle to Land’s End.
Val said, ‘The challenge is very dependent on weather conditions so will be completed in three or four stages but we hope to complete the whole journey during November. We are travelling on quiet roads and tracks and the total distance will be about 1,500 km.
I am hoping to raise funds for a couple of charities and you can donate here to support Heartbeat. I will post updates on our progress as we go.’

Preston North End deliver the NCS (National Citizen Service) programme throughout the year for 15 to 17 year olds, who enjoy new experiences and unique challenges whilst making their mark building skills for work and life.
After choosing Heartbeat for their fundraising experience they had a tour of our premises and learned about how Heartbeat help, support and care for over 800 people in the North West every week; these amazing students organised a fundraising day at Sainsbury’s at Deepdale.
Filled with enthusiasm, they donned their onesies, tu-tus and facepaint and spent the day bag packing and bucket collecting.
These amazing young people even came into Heartbeat HQ and counted the money. They saw the fundraising project from the beginning to end and raised a staggering £843 in cash, a £100 cheque sponsorship and an on-going Just Giving page.
