Thank you to everyone who took part and supported us!!

This Christmas by joining in our Winter Raffle YOU have helped local people affected by heart disease.

In the UK, someone has a heart attack every 3 minutes, that’s nearly 500 people every single day.

But more people experience heart attacks at Christmas than at any other time of the year.

During December and into January there is a huge increase in the number of people having heart attacks, and your support today ensures that the vital cardiac rehabilitation that they need is available, when they need it.

Family Christmas

Heartbeat needs to raise nearly £1 million every year to provide cardiac services.

The charity does not receive any government or NHS funding to do this.

ALL support is voluntary and it is only because of people like you that we are able to help more than 800 people every single week.

EVERY ticket sold really has made a difference helping local people affected by heart disease to rebuild their lives.

Without your support this would not be possible, thank you.

A visit from our Heartbeat Hero’s

It was wonderful to see our guest recently; Colin Porter who is the Customer Experience Development Manager from Booths Head Office.  Colin popped into Heartbeat at Deepdale to have a look around our facilities and meet the team.

Louise Bache, acting CEO, at Heartbeat showed Colin around and explained everything that we do here.

Heartbeat donation in Jim’s Memory

The Lancashire Sunday Football League club officials unanimously decided, at their October League Meeting, to donate £250.00 to Heartbeat in memory of Jim Bryson who died on 31 August.

Lancashire Sunday Football League

Jim, who had served on the management committee of the league for 43 years, was a keen supporter of the Heartbeat (the League’s adopted charity) and he was instrumental in raising a substantial amount for them in recent years.

Val and Keith’s John O Groats to Lands End

UPDATE March 2018… Well Done Val !!

Val says “Cycled 1050 miles in total because we took the quiet roads, not the direct route. Most of the trip was completed in stages in November. We raised £800 pounds sponsorship from friends and supporters.

Thanks for all the support received.

£410 was raised by the ladies of Rossendale Golf Club in various events through the year. Total amount so far about £1200.  This includes £160 on the just giving page.

I did this in memory of a dear friend Peter Ashcroft.  My husband Keith cycled most of the way with me and gave lots of support.

Good luck to all in your anniversary year. It is a great cause.”

An absolutely fantastic achievement! Well done Val and Keith, and thank you both so much for your amazing support! We cannot thank you enough!!

Information

Val has been Lady Captain at Rossendale Golf Club and has supported Heartbeat during the year in memory of Peter Ashcroft.

The golf season finished at the end of October 2017, immediately after closing day, Val and Keith travelled up to John o Groats to get on their bikes and cycle to Land’s End.

Val said, ‘The challenge is very dependent on weather conditions so will be completed in three or four stages but we hope to complete the whole journey during November. We are travelling on quiet roads and tracks and the total distance will be about 1,500 km.

I am hoping to raise funds for a couple of charities and you can donate here to support Heartbeat. I will post updates on our progress as we go.’
