HEARTBEAT EDUCATION SERVICE TO SCHOOLS AND ADULT CENTERS OR WORKPLACES

UPDATED 1st July 2008

Heartbeat runs an education programme in the Preston, South Ribble, Chorley, West Lancashire, Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre areas

Educational sessions are aimed at trying to reduce the prevalence of heart disease through  education.  During the session people are given information on the main causes of heart disease and how a healthy lifestyles can help to reduce the risk of future heart problems. The  benefits of healthy eating and the harmful effects of smoking are highlighted.  Controlling stress  by identifying the 'stress situations' and then learning how to deal with them so that the stress levels are reduced is also an active part of the session.

Adult Groups and Schools are eligible to book sessions with Heartbeat.   We feel that by giving people of all ages the information they need either at their place of work, school or in their leisure time will enable them to make the right lifestyle choices that will benefit them in the future.   This service is provided free but we hope that those who use Heartbeat will help us in our costs.

If you would like to book a session for your school, please click here and print off a copy of our booking form, and either fax the completed copy to 01772 788098 or email it to bridgette@heartbeat-nwcc.org.uk

We have available a mobile display unit that can be seen in the fundraising section.   Should you wish this to attend at events such as school sports days, shows etc we will be happy to oblige.
