A-Z of Fundraising Ideas

Heartbeat is the North West’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre, which supports over 800 people per week on their rehabilitation journey. With no government funding, fundraising is the only way Heartbeat can continue to deliver its services. Help us make this possible by organising your own fundraising event. Here are some ideas;

Afternoon Tea

Organise an afternoon tea. Ask for a donation or set a charge for a delicious afternoon tea.

Bike Ride

Sponsored bike rides are very popular. They are easy to organise and can involve people of all ages and all levels of fitness.

Why not ask friends and family to donate money instead of giving presents for birthdays, weddings and anniversaries.

Darts Match

Arrange a competition, charge an entry fee, hold a raffle and serve refreshments.

Easter Egg Hunt

For an entry fee children can hunt around a field or building for hidden eggs.

Arrange a seasonal garden or hall fete. Charge an entrance fee and ask stall holders to pay for their place or donate takings.

Golf Tournament

Set up a mini golf course and hold a contest. Have a raffle and auction too.

Hiking and Hill Walking

Sponsored by the mile or by the mountain

It’s a Knockout

Use a local sports centre, invite local shops, youth organisations, sports clubs. Charge an admission, sell refreshments.

Jumble Sale

Very traditional, but still works.

Karaoke Evening

Arrange a themed party in a local pub or private venue. Charge to enter or sell tickets.

Labour of Love

Offer your skills or services for an hour, day, week for a donation rather than a wage e.g. wash your neighbours car.

Why not take on the challenge of all challenges and enter into a marathon. A full Heartbeat fundraising pack will be issued upon registration.

Naughty but nice!

Give up a treat such as chocolate or coffee for a week and donate the money you would have spent.

Open House

Host a coffee morning or cheese and wine evening in your own home or in a local community venue.

Plant Sale

Show off your green fingers by selling some of your plants.

Quiz Night

Always popular in school or in the local church hall. Charge teams to enter, have a raffle and sell refreshment.

Recycle your old mobile phones, DVD’s, laptops, CD’s or other unwanted items and donate the proceeds to Heartbeat.

Sponsored Events

Arrange a sponsored event of your choice whether it be a football, netball or hockey match. A sponsored silence, swimathon or bake off… …the possibilities are endless!

Talent Competition

Organise your own X-Factor event. Sell tickets and hold a raffle at the event. Ask local businesses to donate a prize for the winner!

Unwanted Gift Sale

Great after Christmas and Birthdays. Either sell your unwanted gifts and donate the proceeds to Heartbeat or donate your unwanted gifts directly to us to use in raffles and tombola’s throughout the year.

Register as an official volunteer for Heartbeat and get involved in all our fundraising events!

Walk to work

Get your colleagues to walk to work with you and donate their petrol/bus/train fare money to Heartbeat

Xmas Party

Organise a festive party with mince pies, mulled wine and entertainment, charge an entry fee and ask them to bring/pay for food and drink.

Organise a competition and demonstrate your skills.

Sponsor children to go to bed one hour early and make their bed in the morning!!
