There are many ways that Heartbeat uses to raise funds in an effort to expand its activities and services to meet the ever increasing demands from local sufferers of coronary illness. Our main income comes from our lottery but every effort is made to increase income from events either organised by us or by people who support us on our behalf

Give As You Earn

We've helped over 10,000 sufferers to recover from heart disease to a fitter and healthier lifestyle but we rely on donations from people and businesses like you. To continue helping local people from our part of the North West we need regular donations.

We need people to join our Give As You Earn scheme.

All it takes is for you to complete a simple form showing Heartbeat as the elected charity and the amount of the monthly donation. The employer actions the deductions at the next payroll run. There are tax savings and opportunities for the employer to contribute too.

You really will help by making a regular monthly donation. You can make a real difference by showing your relatives, friends and work colleagues this website and asking your employer to allow us to visit your workplace. More information on how the scheme operates can be found at www.giveasyouearn.org  or by contacting Heartbeat.

We need your donations. Straight from the heart.

Remember A Charity

In the biggest combined effort of its kind in the UK over 90 charities, including Heartbeat have joined forces with the legal profession in a bid to raise awareness about donations to charity in wills.

The campaign is designed to change attitudes, generate enthusiasm and increase the number of people leaving money to charities. For more information about Remember a Charity please visit the campaign website at www.rememberacharity.org.uk

Collection boxes are placed in Public Houses Post Offices and various Shops which are collected by a volunteer every quarter or when full. Our volunteers would like to collect the boxes more frequently so if you see a box please make a donation.

We attend many local shows and festivals such as The Royal Lancashire Show, Great Eccleston Show, Lostock Hall Carnival, Longton Village Fete, Longridge Field Day and Chipping Show.  At these shows we try to raise awareness of the risk factors for Coronary Heart Disease by offering our lifestyle assessment quiz and the chance to have your BMI and body fat percentages measured.   Donations for our services help our fundraising.

Each year we organise our own events both social and active ranging from Burns Night to Bike to work week.   We also have supporters arranging their own fundraising events and sponsored activities on our behalf.  Examples include local golf clubs adopting Heartbeat as their official charity, a 'Star Night' and Manchester to Blackpool Cycle Ride.

A grand raffle is held each Christmas time with most of the prizes being donated by local businesses.  Prizes this year include a luxury dinner for six, a day excursion for twelve, beauty treatments, theatre tickets, a studio portrait from a local photographer and dinner for two at a local restaurant.  As Christmas time approaches you may come across our volunteers in various supermarkets around the area selling the raffle tickets so please buy a book and you could win the first prize.

Heartbeat is indebted to many, many people who help to raise funds.   If you would like to raise funds for us or have  any ideas to increase income Please get in touch.  For further information please email heartbeat , telephone 01772 717147 or send a fax to 01772 788098
