Colin Davidson is the Executive Director of Heartbeat.  Heartbeat is now a very busy and forward thinking organisation and importantly the only organisation providing a long term programme of rehabilitation, medically supervised with patient testing facilities. In  providing a very unique service to the local community in the North West the health of those patients who have attended our programmes has significantly improved.   The consequence of this has been a saving on much needed NHS funding and resources.  We  provide a service that if not for Heartbeat, would simply not be there.  Heartbeat relies totally on voluntary contributions, fund raising and our own lottery for finance.   We are not funded by Government, Council (to whom we pay rates) or the NHS.  Colin is responsible for the overall Direction, Running and Strategy of the charity.

Dr R T ParryDr. R T Parry is the Medical Director at Heartbeat.   We are also very fortunate to have Dr Khan who is the Consultant Cardiologist from the Royal Preston Hospital as one of our Patrons.  When physical activity is advised many doctors and hospitals such as Royal Preston NHS Trust, Blackpool Victoria, Chorley & South Ribble hospitals refer patients to Heartbeat.   In addition Heartbeat funds and provides a programme in Ormskirk.  Heartbeat now has 33 medically supervised sessions running and a further 15 non medical sessions.

Barbara Wilson is our Receptionist and is the Personal Assistant to the Executive Director. She will probably be your first point of contact and is very much the focal point in reception .  If you want general   information on Heartbeat or events and fund raising activities Barbara will be able to provide details.

Kathleen Holden is our Accounts Controller. She is responsible for the day to day running of all income and expenditure.   She reports directly to the Executive Director and our Accountant.  She is responsible for all the monetary procedures and accounts to the Committee.

Heartbeat feels that professional handling of its funds is imperative to ensure confidence in our donors that their contributions to local heart patients are properly accounted for.  That donated funds are used to the best advantage in providing facilities for our patients.  Annual audited accounts are available should they be required.  We make a charge of £5.00 per copy including packing and postage.
