Albert’s Poem

Happy 86th Birthday Albert!

Albert is a member at our Burscough Class and he has written this fantastic poem about Heartbeat, his fellow class members and his instructor, Debbie.

On Mondays and Wednesdays and Fridays we gather,

To torture ourselves and work up a lather.

We’re medical misfits with frail broken hearts,

But there’s some who would say were a bunch of old farts.

There’s Steve, Graham and Julian, Alan and Wayne,

And Albert, the old git, a bit of a pain.

There’s two what come from Tartleton,

By gum they talk queer

You could do with an interpreter

To translate what you hear.

To confuse matters further, four Davids we’ve got

Which by anyones standards is quite a lot.

We’ve Hairy and Posh and to add to the farce,

and by his own admission, there’s Pain in the arse.

Busy David is the other and Keith joins in too,

but he doesn’t blaspheme like the rest of the crew.

We’re a bit short on ladies, but four make a show,

There’s Lynn and there’s Julie, Betty and Jo.

Not forgetting our Debbie, our mentor Supreme

Whose love life intrigues us, you know what I mean.

She really keeps us on our toes

She really beats the drum,

Whilst we all gaze in rapture

At the glory of her bum.

So we try our best and we enjoy a good joke,

And with that and God willing, we can put off that stroke !!
