Heartbeat is excited to be one of the chosen charities to The Mayor of Preston

Councillor Javed Iqbal said “Just a few words regarding my association with Heartbeat. Most of my working life I worked for Royal Mail and had a fairly active and healthy lifestyle. I served with the Territorial Army, Royal Engineers, for twelve years and rose to the rank of Sergeant.

In 2004 issues with my heart began and had the first set of overall 9 stents, then in 2015 I had quadruple bypass.
I first started to attend Heartbeat in 2004, when they were located at Harris Park on Garstang Road and have attended since.
Heartbeat is an amazing charity with dedicated staff and volunteers serving our local communities.

I have chosen Heartbeat and Preston Domestic Violence Service as my charities for my Mayoral year. Hopefully I can raise some money to help keep their services going.”
