“Thank you for saving my life!” – Mike’s Story!

A Heartbeat Hero Returns!

Just over three months after suffering a cardiac arrest, Mike is back attending his Heartbeat classes. Having had a pacemaker and defibrillator fitted, he is ready to rebuild his strength and return to the exercise he knows will support his recovery.

Mike said:
“I can’t wait to get back to it. I know I will be well looked after.”

For those who don’t know, Mike first came to Heartbeat after undergoing bypass surgery, attending our supervised cardiac rehabilitation classes to regain his fitness. During a session, he suffered a cardiac arrest – a situation that can happen to anyone, at any time. He survived because our team was trained, ready, and the defibrillator was just feet away.

Mike’s story is a powerful reminder that what we do at Heartbeat isn’t just exercise – it saves lives. Our team can also deliver CPR and defibrillator workshop classes in local communities. To find out more, email jo.duff@heartbeat-nwcc.org.uk.

We are proud to welcome Mike back to our classes and celebrate the life-saving impact of supervised cardiac rehabilitation and prevention.
